
The deadline for submitting nomination papers for the 13th National Parliamentary Election expires today.
Aspiring candidates have until 5:00 PM to file their nominations with their respective Returning and Assistant Returning Officers.
No submissions will be accepted after the passing of this deadline.
Md. Ruhul Amin Mallick, Director (Public Relations) and Information Officer of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat, reported that 2,780 candidates collected nomination forms between the announcement of the schedule on December 11 and 2:30 PM on Sunday (December 28).
However, only 31 candidates had formally submitted their papers by that time. Officials expect this number to rise significantly today as the deadline approaches.
According to the revised schedule:
The 13th National Parliamentary Election and a Referendum will be held via paper ballots and transparent ballot boxes on Thursday, February 12. Voting will take place continuously from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
