According to sources within the Cabinet Division, today’s discussions will focus on:

• Salary Caps: Finalizing the maximum and minimum basic pay.

• Allowances: Reviewing house rent, medical, and festival allowances.
• Retirement Benefits: Finalizing pension and other post-service facilities.

If members reach a consensus, final decisions on these framework elements could be reached by the end of the day.

Salary Ratio Already Finalized

In a previous meeting held on January 8, the commission finalized the salary ratio at 1:8 (the ratio between the lowest and highest pay grades).

While proposals for 1:10 and 1:12 were reviewed, the 1:8 ratio was selected to minimize the gap between entry-level and top-tier officials.

The Ninth National Pay Commission was formed on July 27, 2025, led by former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan.
