FM Khalilur Rahman Visits Saudi Arabia on First Official Overseas Trip

Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman has departed for Saudi Arabia on his first official foreign trip since the BNP-led government assumed office.

The Minister is traveling to Jeddah to attend an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Minister Rahman left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia late Tuesday night (February 24), shortly after 1:30 AM.

Focus on Palestine and Regional Diplomacy
The Minister is scheduled to participate in the OIC Ministerial Meeting this coming Thursday in Jeddah.

Key Agenda: The meeting is expected to focus primarily on the ongoing Israeli aggression in the occupied West Bank.

Side-line Meetings: On the sidelines of the emergency session, the Foreign Minister is expected to hold bilateral talks with foreign ministers from several OIC member states to strengthen diplomatic ties.

Return Schedule
Following the conclusion of his visit and diplomatic engagements in Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman is scheduled to return to Bangladesh this Saturday (February 28).
