Bangladesh Police have issued a high-level intelligence alert regarding potential plans by militant organizations to attack the National Parliament and other key government and state installations.
The emergency warning follows intelligence reports suggesting that members of a banned militant group are coordinating a multi-pronged attack strategy.
The directive was issued via an official letter signed by DIG Kamrul Ahsan of Police Headquarters on Thursday (April 23).
While senior officials declined to provide on-record comments, at least three officers from the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit and other specialized wings confirmed receipt of the alert on Friday (April 24).

In response to these threats, Police Headquarters has ordered all relevant units to significantly reinforce security at vulnerable sites, increase surveillance, and enhance inter-agency intelligence coordination.
Copies of the alert have been dispatched to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Special Branch (SB), CTTC, and all District Superintendents of Police.
Officials noted that while such alerts are part of standard precautionary protocols, this specific warning underscores a heightened level of readiness against active terrorist threats.
For security reasons, the Police Headquarters has not disclosed further technical details regarding the nature of the specific threats.
