Police Headquarters Issues Special Instructions to Field-Level Officers

The Police Headquarters has directed field-level police officers to ensure proper investigation of every case and bring criminals to justice.

These directives were issued on Wednesday (July 29) during the monthly crime review meeting for June 2026, held virtually at the Police Headquarters.

Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime and Operations) Khondoker Rafiqul Islam presided over the meeting. Officials from Metropolitan Police, Special Branch (SB), Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Tourist Police, Highway Police, Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Railway Police, as well as various ranges and districts, joined virtually. Present at the Police Headquarters were DIG (Crime Management) Mohammad Abu Sufian, DIG (Operations) Md. Rezaul Karim, and other relevant officials.

Additional IG Khondoker Rafiqul stated that everyone concerned must remain vigilant to prevent any rise in crime. He instructed officials to closely investigate cases involving murder, rape, robbery, and kidnapping, and to expedite their resolution.

The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation along with significant events from June 2026. Detailed discussions were also held on cases concerning robbery, dacoity, murder, rape, and kidnapping, as well as pending arrest warrants, investigation and trial outcomes, and conviction rates.
