Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammed Aminur Rashid on Friday said that Bangladesh constitutes a land characterized by communal concord, mutual coexistence, and reciprocal regard, urging all citizens to remain consolidated in opposition to wrongdoings.

"All those who have been living in this country and people of all religions are equal partners in this country. So, it is the responsibility of all to make the country beautiful, peaceful and prosperous," he stated.

Aminur articulated these observations while addressing a gathering organized within Cumilla earlier this morning in honor of the Krishna Janmashtami Celebration 2026.

Janmashtami stands as a principal spiritual festival of the Hindu demographic, marking the nativity of Lord Sri Krishna.

The agriculture minister asserted that no theological doctrine globally condones injustice, inequity, or malevolent entities.

The primary doctrines espoused by all faiths center upon championing human welfare, equity, aesthetic grace, empathy, and tranquility, he noted.

Consequently, he indicated that when human well-being is safeguarded, the genuine prosperity of both society and the state is secured.

"Our predecessors have left us a beautiful country. So, building a more developed, humane and safe Bangladesh for the next generation is one of the main responsibilities of the present generation," Aminur remarked.

He maintained that if populations across all communities manifest affection and mutual deference toward one another, national advancement is guaranteed.

He additionally observed that the overwhelming majority of the nation's populace supports righteousness, well-being, and beauty.

Provided that these citizens remain unified, no malevolent force or injustice will succeed in emerging within society, he affirmed.

Cumilla City Corporation administrator Yousuf Mollah and deputy commissioner Rosy Akter likewise addressed the assembly, which was presided over by Shri Shyamal Krishna Saha, convener of the Shri Krishna Janmashtami Celebration Committee in Cumilla.

Janmashtami Celebration Committee member secretary Dilip Nag Kanai and joint conveners Subrata Chowdhury Tapu and Sanjit Debnath, among other figures, were in attendance at the event.

Following the formal session, Agriculture Minister Aminur Rashid took part in a vibrant Mongal Shobhajatra arranged in observance of Janmashtami.
