3 Rohingyas hacked, shot dead at Ukhiya camp

Three Rohingya refugees have been killed in a clash with terrorists at a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar. Three others were injured in the incident.

The incident took place at F Block of Rohingya Camp No. 4 (Extension) in Ukhia on Monday (June 10).

The deceased were identified as Elias (31) son of Md Zafar Ahmed, Ishaque (54) son of Zafar Ahmed and Firoz Khan (18) Md Ismail's son from camp-3's E block.

Members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO), a separatist terrorist organization in Myanmar, shot Elias and hacked him in the hands, legs and abdomen with sharp weapons. He later died on the spot due to excessive bleeding at around 4 am on Monday. Then, the members of Myanmar's armed group Arakan Salvation Army (ARSA) arrived at the scene around 4:15 am. Ishaque, Firoz Khan, Abdul Haque, Abdus Shukkur and Abdul Monaf were hacked with bullets and sharp weapons in different parts of the body by the ARSA members.

Shamim Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said the bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
