Hazaribagh Leather Warehouse Fire Contained After 3 Hours
A fire that erupted at a leather warehouse in Dhaka's Hazaribagh market has been successfully brought under control after three hours of relentless efforts.
Md Shahjahan Shikder, Acting Officer of the Fire Service Media Cell, confirmed that the blaze was contained by 4:50 pm on Friday (January 17).
The fire initially broke out around 2:00 pm, prompting the deployment of 12 Fire Service units. The Bangladesh Army and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) also joined forces to combat the flames.
Although the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known, it is initially suspected that the presence of chemicals in the leather warehouse could be a factor. Additionally, there have been no reports of anyone being trapped inside the building.
