The Jamuna Railway Bridge, one of the largest railway bridges in the country, has been officially inaugurated. The inauguration ceremony occurred at Ibrahimabad Railway Station on the Tangail side at 11:40 am on Tuesday (March 18).
Bangladesh Railway Secretary Fahimul Islam graced the event as the chief guest. Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinchi and JICA's South Asia Director General, Mr Ito Teruyaki, attended as special guests.
Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain presided over the ceremony.
Following the inauguration and discussions at Ibrahimabad Station, the officials will travel by train to Saidabad Railway Station in Sirajganj, where the Jamuna Railway Bridge authorities are expected to hold a press conference.
