To ensure the safety of industrial establishments, traders have made demands to the chief advisor of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus.

They mentioned the matter of fire and vandalism in various industrial establishments at that time.

A delegation of businessmen met the Chief Advisor at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday (September 3) and upheld the request. Businessmen flocked to the chief adviser in the wake of days of workers' protests halting production in hundreds of factories.

A six-member business delegation led by International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB) President Mahbubur Rahman held a meeting with the Chief Advisor.

The delegation included the managing director of Square Pharmaceuticals Tapan Chowdhury, former presidents of FBCCI AK Azad and Mir Nasir Hossain, BGMEA president Khandaker Rafiqul Islam and the former president of FICCI Naser Ejaj Bijoy.

After the meeting, ICCB president Mahbubur Rahman said the government has assured us that necessary steps will be taken to ensure the industry's safety.
