
A fire at a printing factory and chemical godown in the capital's Mirpur area on Tuesday left nine dead and several injured.
The identity of the deceased and injured is yet to be known.
Fire Service Director Tajul Islam said that the blaze was reported around 11:40 am while they reached the spot at 11:56 am.
He added that a team had been sent from the Fire Service headquarters to conduct a search operation.
It was learnt that 12 firefighting units were making efforts to take the fire under control until this report was written.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
