Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has significantly tightened security across various border areas in Brahmanbaria adjacent to India.

Increased patrolling and surveillance have been deployed along the frontier to prevent potential illegal push-ins, drug trafficking, and smuggling.

Members of the Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) and Sarail Battalion (25 BGB) have been placed on high alert in the border regions of Akhaura, Kasba, and Bijoynagar upazilas.

Vigilance has been intensified at key strategic points to ensure no illegal infiltration, narcotics, or smuggled goods can cross into the country.

Local residents noted that BGB’s patrolling activities have scaled up visibly in recent days.

In addition to tracking suspicious movements, locals are actively sharing information with law enforcement to help secure the border.

Lieutenant Colonel Jabbar Ahmed, Commander of the Sarail Battalion (25 BGB), stated that maximum alertness is being maintained given the country's current situation.

Echoing this stance, Lieutenant Colonel S. M. Shariful Islam, Commander of the Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB), confirmed that intelligence surveillance and patrolling have been robustly enhanced.

He reaffirmed the paramilitary force's unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's sovereignty and border security.

BGB officials maintained that this heightened security posture will continue to keep the border stable and prevent any untoward incidents.
