A pair of improvised explosive devices detonated on the thoroughfare adjacent to the capital's Malibagh Railgate Friday afternoon, leaving casualties absent.

Shahjahanpur Police Station officer-in-charge Amirul Islam stated that the blasts transpired opposite the Shohagh Paribahan counter between 2:25 pm and 2:30 pm.

Perpetrators hurled the devices from the upper deck of the adjacent three-storey flyover onto the roadway below.

While direct video surveillance coverage is absent at the exact blast locus, investigators are reviewing feeds from nearby security cameras to track down those accountable, the officer added.
