The curtain rises today, Saturday (January 3), on the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2026.

The month-long event will be officially inaugurated at 10:00 AM at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCFEC) in Purbachal.

Organized jointly by the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the fair continues its tradition of showcasing domestic and international products.

Modernization and Connectivity

In an effort to streamline the experience for visitors and exhibitors, several digital and logistical upgrades have been implemented this year:

Digital Access: For the first time, stall and pavilion allocations were managed online. Visitors can now purchase e-tickets via a QR code system to avoid long queues at the gates, though on-spot ticket counters remain available.

Commuter Support: Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman confirmed that dedicated BRTC bus services will operate to the venue.

Additionally, the ride-sharing platform 'Pathao' has partnered with the fair to offer services at concessional rates for attendees.

Rescheduled Opening

The fair was originally slated to begin on January 1.

However, the schedule was pushed back to January 3 following the three-day national mourning period declared for the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

A New Chapter in Purbachal

The DITF was traditionally held at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar from 1995 until 2020. After a hiatus in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue was permanently shifted to the state-of-the-art BBCFEC in Purbachal in 2022.

The fair remains Bangladesh's premier platform for product promotion, marketing, and fostering industrial growth.
