PM’s Education Trust to Provide Admission Aid, Applications Open Until Jun 14

The government has launched a comprehensive admission assistance programme aimed at supporting financially insolvent yet meritorious students enrolled in government and non-government secondary and equivalent educational institutions across the country.

The initiative, undertaken by the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust, is designed to provide critical financial support to disadvantaged students who have recently been admitted to or are currently studying at the secondary level.

According to a notice published on the Ministry of Education's website, the online application process commenced on May 14, and will remain open until June 14.

The Trust specified that eligible students can submit their applications through the designated online link from 9 am on May 14 until 11:59 pm on June 14.

Under the established admission assistance guidelines, applicants must meet specific academic and financial criteria.

Students are required to have secured at least 60 percent marks in their previous class or maintained a GPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
Furthermore, the annual income of the student's father, mother, or legal guardian must not exceed Taka 300,000.

The notice emphasizes that applicants must upload clear copies of essential documents, including the student's birth registration certificate, the national identity cards (NID) of their parents, a recent photograph and online bank account details.

Special provisions are included for orphan students, students with disabilities, those suffering from incurable diseases (or whose guardians are afflicted), children of financially insolvent freedom fighters, and children of 20th-grade government employees; these applicants must upload the relevant supporting certificates.

Additionally, children from "extremely poor families" are required to submit a recommendation certificate from their respective Union Parishad chairman or a city corporation ward councilor.

As the entire application process is strictly online-based, the authorities have clarified that "there is no need to send any hard copies either by post or directly."

For further information or technical assistance regarding the programme, applicants can contact the official helplines (02-55000428, 01778958356 and 01778964156) during office hours, from 9 am to 4 pm.
