The transmission of Bangladesh Television (BTV) programs has started in India Monday morning through state-of-the-art television Doordarshan’s DTH platform-DD Free Dish. The matter was informed in the weekly cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat in the capital with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told a press briefing after the meeting. Reports BSS. “Formal transmission of BTV (programs) has started in India through its national television “Doordarshan” in line with the agreement signed between the two countries during the June 6-7 visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in India,” he said. The broadcast of BTV programs has started at 9 (local time) this morning through the Indian state-of-the-art television Doordarshan’s DTH platform-DD Free Dish. But Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the broadcasting formally from BTV auditorium at Rampura in the city at 3:00 in the afternoon. AH

Ekushey Padak winner renowned actor ATM Shamsuzzaman’s operation was successfully completed on Saturday. As he felt sick on Friday midnight he was admitted at capital’s Azgar Ali Hospital. The legendary actor is being kept under 72 hour observation in the hospital after the operation. He was given saline on Saturday morning. Then suddenly there was seen excretion problem. So he was taken to the operation theater immediately and successful operation was performed. Then the actor is being kept on 72 hour observation. ATM Shamsuzzaman is the story writer, dialogue writer, screenwriter, film director and actor. He was born at Daulatpur in Noakhali on September 10, 1941. He studied in Pogoj School, Collegiate School and Loknath School in Rahshahi. ATM Shamsuzzaman got the opportunity to work as Assistant Director in the film ‘Bishkonna’ by Udayan Chowdhury in 1961. He wrote the first screenplay of a film named ‘Jolchhobi’ in 1965. In the same year he began his career as the actor. His first acted film was ‘Nayi Jindegi’ but it was incomplete. He acted in the film ‘Nayanmoni’ in 1974 directed by Amjad Hossain. After that he played his role as actor in many films. He is also praised for his performance in television dramas. AH       

Rtv, the country's leading private satellite television channel, has entered into 14 years on Wednesday. During a purposeless train journey on a holiday, a girl named Rupa first meets him in the station. At first sight Shahid falls in love with Rupa. Rupa studies in Dhaka. No parents, close relatives to say are maternal uncle and aunt. Shahid gets acquainted with Rupa while waiting for train at the station. Shaheed hides his destination and starts traveling in the same train. There is much chit-chat in the train between the two. After Rupa’s getting down from the train, Shahid himself also gets down. Then he asks Rupa the phone number and instead Rupa takes his phone number. This is how sequences of “Ekti Valo Golper Khoje” (In Search of a Good Story) go ahead. Farhan Jovan, Salha Khanom Nadia, Ashis Ashraful, Ananda Khaled, Ferdous Arefin and many others have played roles in this play. Mahdi Shaon directed the play in the writings of Muhammad Abu Rajin.
