The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has directed all government hospitals in the capital to ensure the immediate and appropriate medical care of patients referred from Ad-Din Hospital.

The directive follows the sudden operational cancellation of the prominent private facility.

It was issued through an official letter signed by DGHS Director (Hospitals and Clinics) Dr. Abu Hossain Md. Moinul Ahsan yesterday and dispatched to the heads of all public medical institutions across Dhaka.

According to the official correspondence, the operating license of Ad-Din Women's Medical College Hospital, located in the city's Boro Moghbazar area, has been cancelled.

In light of the abrupt closure and to prevent a sudden breakdown in patient care, the DGHS leadership intervened to guarantee an uninterrupted transition for those currently undergoing treatment at the facility.

The letter explicitly noted that the emergency directive has received full, formal approval from the Director General of Health Services.

To manage the influx of displaced patients efficiently, copies of the urgent DGHS directive were fast-tracked to the directors of Dhaka's major public healthcare institutions.

The primary government hospitals instructed to receive and prioritize the incoming referred patients include:

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)

Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (SSMCH)

Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital

Mugda Medical College Hospital

Kurmitola General Hospital

Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute

The government authorities have instructed the management of these medical centers to keep emergency units and relevant departments prepared to accommodate any incoming transfers from Ad-Din Hospital without delay.
