Qatar has reported positive progress in the indirect talks held between representatives of the United States and Iran in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that advancements were made on various issues related to the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the discussions mediated by Qatar and Pakistan.

Furthermore, both sides are scheduled to return to the negotiating table following the funeral and burial services of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to a report by the Anadolu Agency, Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, shared these details in a post on the social media platform X on Wednesday (July 1).

"Qatari and Pakistani mediators concluded separate meetings today in Doha with US and Iranian negotiators.

Positive progress has been achieved on various issues based on the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the outcomes of the Lake Lucerne Summit," Al-Ansari stated.

He further noted that both parties have agreed to continue discussions in the coming days.

The schedule for the next meeting will be finalized as soon as possible after the completion of the funeral and burial of the former Iranian Supreme Leader.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli attacks on February 28. His funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday (July 3).
