U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking with reporters regarding the situation in the Middle East, has claimed that the United States has secured victory in the ongoing conflict against Iran.

The remarks were made during the swearing-in ceremony for the new Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, at the White House.

Trump stated that Tehran has become "desperate" for a deal and asserted that the U.S. is negotiating with the "right people" in Iran.

When asked by journalists about the possibility of a peace treaty, Trump stated bluntly, "We won the war." However, he did not provide a specific roadmap or timeline for how or when the conflict would officially conclude.

Negotiations with Iran
President Trump revealed that top-level officials from his administration are directly involved in talks with Iran. He noted that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are participating in the process.

Additionally, Trump’s senior advisor Jared Kushner and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff are currently leading discussions. In Trump's words, "Iran wants to make a deal now... you’d want to do the same if you were in their position."

The Strait of Hormuz and the ‘Big Prize’
Highlighting the progress of the talks, Trump claimed that Iranian negotiators have promised the U.S. a "very significant prize" related to oil, gas, and the Strait of Hormuz. He did not elaborate on the specific nature of this "gift" or prize.

According to Trump, such proposals prove that Washington is dealing with the right individuals.

‘Regime Change’ in Iran
Trump further claimed that recent strikes on Tehran have resulted in "regime change" within the country. He asserted that Iran has agreed to terms ensuring they will never develop nuclear weapons.

Commenting on Iran’s current military capabilities, Trump said, "Their navy, their air force, and their communications are totally gone. They can’t even talk to each other, and that’s their biggest problem right now."

Praise for Regional Allies
The U.S. President also praised the roles played by Gulf nations during the conflict, describing the United Arab Emirates as "fantastic" and Qatar as "great."
