A new Reuters poll reveals that two-thirds of U.S. citizens believe the Trump administration should work to quickly end the country’s involvement in the war with Iran, even if its stated military objectives have not been fully achieved.

The survey, conducted from last Friday to Sunday, highlights a growing public desire for de-escalation as the conflict enters its second month.

Key Findings from the Poll
The survey of 1,021 participants showcased a significant divide in public opinion regarding the ongoing military campaign:

Immediate Withdrawal: Approximately 66% of respondents stated that the U.S. must withdraw from the conflict as soon as possible.

Stay the Course: Only 27% argued that the U.S. should continue fighting until all objectives are met, regardless of how long the conflict lasts.

Direct Strikes: 60% of respondents voiced their opposition to U.S. airstrikes on Iranian soil, while 35% expressed support.

Undecided: Roughly 6% of participants declined to answer.

Partisan Divide
While the majority of the country favors an end to the war, opinions remain split along party lines. Among Republicans, 57% support a longer commitment to achieve total victory, though a notable 40% still favor a quick resolution even without a clear win.

Economic and Humanitarian Toll
The war—which involves the U.S. and Israel against Iran—has now spanned over a month and spread across the Middle East. The consequences have been felt globally:

Democratic Senator Chris Coons criticized the administration's handling of the situation, linking the conflict directly to domestic economic struggles.

"In Trump's 'war of choice,' Iran has made everything expensive for the United States," Senator Coons stated. "It’s not just the cost of fuel; costs at the grocery store have climbed as well."
