The President declared that Beijing would face "serious consequences" if it does not halt military assistance to the Iranian regime. Trump made these remarks to reporters on Saturday (April 11) as he departed the White House for Florida, citing recent briefings from U.S. intelligence agencies.
Intelligence Reports of Arms Shipments
According to reports from CNN, intelligence suggests that Iran is utilizing a current two-week ceasefire—following strikes by the U.S. and Israel—to rebuild its depleted military arsenal.
Analysts claim China is preparing to facilitate a significant shipment of weaponry, including air defense systems, likely through a third-party nation to obscure the origin.
The intelligence specifically highlights China's intent to provide shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missile systems.
This specific technology is a point of high tension for the Pentagon, as a similar system was used by Iran earlier in the conflict to down a U.S. F-15 fighter jet, resulting in significant operational losses during recovery efforts.
