U.S. President Donald Trump has welcomed the "Mecca Joint Defense Pact" signed between Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.

In a message shared on the social media platform Truth Social, he said, "I am extremely pleased that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have finally signed the Mecca Joint Defense Pact," according to TRT World reports.

Trump further noted that this agreement reflects "how the Middle East is coming together and how countries will finally be able to better protect themselves."

At the end of his message, he added,

Earlier this month, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan signed the trilateral defense pact aimed at ensuring peace and stability at regional and international levels, strengthening joint security, and enhancing defense cooperation.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the agreement as a symbol of "strategic resolve" in light of changing regional dynamics. He emphasized that the trilateral pact is not centered on any recent events or targeted at any specific country.

Erdogan further stated, "Turkey has always prioritized diplomacy over tension, dialogue over conflict, and robust regional cooperation over division. As a country capable of engaging with every party and stepping up to shoulder responsibility in difficult situations, we will continue to play our part in safeguarding lasting peace and stability in our region."

According to the terms of the "Mecca Joint Defense Pact," an armed attack on any one of the three nations will be considered an attack on all. It also pledges to deepen mutual cooperation across all defense-related areas.

Based on shared strategic interests, the primary objectives of the pact are to enhance joint deterrence, reinforce regional stability, and build a secure future without targeting any third party.
