The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to deliver a formal response to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) by Tuesday regarding the deadlock over T20 World Cup venues.

Early reports suggest the ICC will reject Dhaka’s request to relocate matches to Sri Lanka, instead offering Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram as alternative "compromise" venues in Southern India.

The BCB’s demand to move out of India stems from cited "security concerns," a situation intensified following the controversial release of pacer Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad.

While Bangladesh was originally slated to play in Kolkata and Mumbai, the board now deems these cities politically sensitive.

However, the ICC’s counter-proposal may not satisfy Dhaka; BCB President Aminul Islam has already hinted that moving to Chennai might still be unacceptable without direct high-level security assurances from the Indian government.

To bolster its stance that the environment remains safe, the ICC is expected to point to Bangladeshi umpire Sharfuddoula Saikat, who successfully officiated the India vs New Zealand ODI in Vadodara this past Sunday.

The ICC intends to use his incident-free participation as proof that Bangladeshi nationals can safely fulfill their roles in India.

With less than a month left before teams are scheduled to arrive, the governing body is pushing for an immediate resolution to avoid a tournament logistics crisis.
