While several group-stage matches of the ongoing T20 World Cup are still pending, the eight teams for the Super Eight stage have already been confirmed.
Pakistan finds itself in a challenging group, facing a grueling test to secure a spot in the semifinals.
On Wednesday (February 18) in Colombo, Pakistan opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a formidable 199 for 3 in their allotted 20 hours.
In response, Namibia was bowled out for 97 in just 17.3 overs. Pakistan’s dominant victory finalized the lineup for the Super Eight stage.
Under the tournament’s pre-seeding format for the top eight teams, Australia is the only major side that failed to qualify. Zimbabwe has advanced from Group B in their place and will take over Australia’s position in the Super Eight seedings.
