
Belgium secured their spot in the quarter-finals after a commanding 4-1 victory over the United States on Tuesday, July 7, at Seattle Stadium.
Belgium drew first blood early in the match, with Charles De Ketelaere finding the net in the 9th minute off an assist from Raskin. The hosts managed to equalize in the 31st minute through a Malik Tillman strike, bringing the score to 1-1.
However, the deadlock lasted only one minute. In the 33rd minute, De Ketelaere struck again, connecting with a pass from Trossard to restore Belgium’s lead. The teams headed into the halftime break with Belgium holding a 2-1 advantage.
The second half began with continued momentum for the visitors. Hans Vanaken extended Belgium's lead to 3-1 in the 57th minute. Romelu Lukaku sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the closing moments of the match.
With this 4-1 win, Belgium advances to the next round, where they are set to face Spain.
