Prime Minister to leave for Delhi today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to New Delhi on a two-day state visit. This will be the first bilateral visit by a foreign prime minister to India after the formation of the new government.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her entourage will depart Dhaka for New Delhi on a chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 2:00 pm and reach the Indian capital at 4:00 pm on Friday (June 21). She will stay in India from June 21 to 22 on the occasion of this important bilateral visit.

This information was informed in a notification sent by the press wing of the Prime Minister last Wednesday (June 19). According to the notification, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will receive a formal welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the forecourt of New Delhi on the morning of June 22. The Prime Minister will take the armed salute and inspect the guard of honour. The national anthems of both countries will be played. An official photograph will also be taken with the President of India during this reception.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will then lay wreaths and sign the visitation book at Mahatma Gandhi's mausoleum at Rajghat.

On the same day, Sheikh Hasina will go to Hyderabad House for an official meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There will be a private meeting between the Prime Minister of India and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Discussions at delegation level and exchange of MoUs and agreements signed between the two countries and press statements of the two leaders organized here. A state lunch is also scheduled to be held in honor of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will sign the inspection book; There will also be an official photo shoot with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the first day of the visit, S Jaishankar, India's minister of external affairs, will call on Hasina at her place of residence in the evening.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar at his secretariat on June 22 afternoon.

After the meeting with the Vice President, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will again go to Rashtrapati Bhavan of India. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will have a private meeting with Indian President Droupadi Murmu.

She will leave New Delhi's Palam Airport for Dhaka on June 22 at 6 pm local time on a Bangladesh Biman special flight and scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 9:00 pm.
