New curriculum to develop to enhance child intelligence: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated that a new education curriculum is being developed to enhance child development. And education will be the main force of poverty liberation.

She said this on the occasion of National Primary Education Medal Ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Thursday (June 27).

The Prime Minister said that computer labs will be set up in every school at the initial stage. Balanced public welfare oriented education system will be developed.

She also said that the government is planning to make two years pre-primary education for children. The government wants universal quality education, not just textbook education.

Noting that the number of female teachers in primary schools has increased threefold in the last 15 years, she further said that the Awami League government greatly developed the country's education system by giving utmost importance to education and is working tirelessly to ensure quality primary education.

Farid Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education presided over the event. Rumana Ali, State Minister of Primary and Mass Education spoke as a special guest on that event.
