Prime Minister Tarique Rahman led two high-priority inter-ministerial meetings at the Bangladesh Secretariat Thursday, focusing on the swift implementation of key election pledges regarding social welfare and environmental restoration.

In the first session held at the Cabinet Division conference room, the Prime Minister presided over a meeting to finalize the action plan for the "Family Card" initiative.

This program, a central promise of the newly formed Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) government, aims to establish an operational framework for providing social safety nets and essential support to households nationwide.

Ministers and state ministers from all relevant departments attended to coordinate the project’s rollout, which the administration has labeled a top priority for economic welfare and social security.

The Prime Minister also chaired a second high-level meeting focused on a massive environmental and infrastructure recovery drive.

This session centered on the "Planting 25 crore trees in five years" initiative and a national-level program for the excavation and re-excavation of rivers, canals, and water bodies.

Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirmed that the concerned ministers and state ministers were present to discuss the logistics of these large-scale sustainability projects.
