Special Train Coaches for Women Added to Sylhet and Chattogram Routes for Eid

Following a directive from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Bangladesh Railway has introduced special dedicated coaches for women passengers on select train services to ensure a safer and more comfortable journey during the Eid-ul-Azha rush.

The exclusive coaches have been added to the Jayantika Express on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Dhaka route, as well as the non-stop Sonar Bangla Express operating on the Dhaka-Chattogram-Dhaka route.

The Director General of Bangladesh Railway, Md. Afzal Hossain, formally inaugurated the new service on Monday by seeing off the first group of women passengers travelling in the dedicated coach of the Jayantika Express from Kamalapur Railway Station.

According to the BNP Media Cell, this special service commenced on Monday and is scheduled to continue operating until Wednesday ahead of the upcoming Eid celebrations.
