Heavy Falls Forecast in 6 Divisions as Monsoon Rain Continues

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted widespread rainfall across various regions of the country over the next 24 hours, commencing at 9 am on Sunday.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the Met office this morning, "Light to moderately heavy rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions."

Furthermore, the bulletin warned that heavy to very heavy downpours may lash isolated places within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.

Meteorological data showed that Saturday's highest temperature reached 34.5 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur, while Sunday's lowest temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius in Narayanganj.

Over the preceding 24 hours leading up to 6 am today, the maximum rainfall nationwide was logged at 132 millimeters in Patuakhali.

In the capital, the sun is scheduled to set at 6:49 pm on Sunday and rise at 5:19 am on Monday.
