The British High Commission in Dhaka has issued a new notification for Bangladeshi citizens planning to travel to the United Kingdom. Starting February 25, the UK visa process will operate under a new digital system.
The announcement, made on Saturday (February 7), highlights a major shift in how travel authorizations are issued.
Key Changes: Transition to eVisas
According to the High Commission, the UK immigration system is transitioning to a fully digital framework. Key points include:
- Launch Date: The new system will be effective from February 25, 2026.
- Digital Only: Travelers requiring a visa for the UK will now receive an eVisa instead of a physical document.
- No More Stickers: The traditional visa sticker (vignette) previously attached to passports will be replaced by this digital record.
The High Commission has advised applicants to visit the official government portal at www.gov.uk/eVisa for detailed information and guidance on how to navigate this transition.
