The holy month of Ramadan begins today. In observance of the occasion, all schools, colleges, and madrasas across the country are entering a holiday period. Specifically, closures for madrasas and colleges already took effect as of yesterday.
On Wednesday night (February 18), the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education, along with the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, issued two separate revised notifications regarding the break.
According to the revised schedule, all government and private primary, secondary, and lower-secondary schools will remain closed starting today, Thursday.
This vacation will continue until March 26. Since March 26 falls on a Thursday, teachers and staff will also benefit from the following two-day weekend (Friday and Saturday).
Meanwhile, per a notification from the Technical and Madrasa Education Division released on January 19, madrasas have been closed since February 15 and will remain so until March 26. Classes in these institutions are also set to resume on March 29.
