Nationwide Operations and List Compilation
The Minister noted that the operation will commence in Dhaka before expanding across the country. Authorities are currently compiling comprehensive lists of extortionists and notorious criminals.

"We are preparing an impartial list to conduct operations and bring these individuals to justice," the Minister stated. Addressing the public, he added, "We expect full cooperation from the citizens. We want to reassure the public that peace and law and order will be maintained. We hope to execute our plans very shortly."

Meeting with Law Enforcement
During his visit to the DMP Headquarters, Minister Ahmed consulted with senior officials, including Additional Commissioners, Joint Commissioners, and Officers-in-Charge (OCs) from 50 police stations.

"I listened to their challenges and conveyed our specific instructions," he said. "Our primary objective and the top priority of the current government is to improve the law and order situation, provide relief to the people, and establish the rule of law. The police play a paramount role in this."

Restoring Public Trust
Reflecting on the challenges inherited from the previous administration, the Home Minister addressed the tarnished image of the police force.

The Minister asserted that the police are returning to their historic role as "friends of the people." He noted that during his meeting, he observed a renewed sense of determination among the officers.

"They are committed to making any sacrifice for the welfare of the nation," Ahmed said. He further clarified that the rank-and-file members should not be blamed for the "stigma" attached to the institution by the former regime. "The actions of a few individuals under a fascist regime led to this reputation; the institution as a whole is not responsible for those deeds."
