Move over "Trump" and "Netanyahu"—there is a new viral sensation in the livestock world. A rare albino buffalo named "Modi" has become the talk of the town in Narayanganj, drawing massive crowds ahead of the Eid-ul-Adha cattle markets.
The buffalo, characterized by its unique "pink" or light-colored skin, has gained social media fame primarily for its unusual facial features.
Visitors and netizens have pointed out that the animal possesses a distinct, long white beard and a facial structure that bears a striking resemblance to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the owners of the local farm, the buffalo was not originally named after any political figure.
However, after videos of the animal went viral, an informal online poll was conducted among netizens who were amused by the resemblance. The name "Modi" was eventually chosen to match the public's perception.
"Every day, people from different walks of life are crowding the farm just to get a glimpse of the 'Modi' buffalo," a farm representative stated.
"The white beard and the unique pinkish hue of the albino breed have made it a star attraction."
This naming trend has become a marketing phenomenon in Narayanganj's Paikpara area.
It follows the earlier fame of a buffalo named "Donald Trump," known for its unique hair tuft, and a temperamental buffalo named "Netanyahu."
Farmers at Rabeya Agro Farm and surrounding areas note that giving sacrificial animals high-profile names significantly boosts public interest and market value.
As the Eid-ul-Adha holiday approaches, locals are eagerly watching to see which international figure will be "represented" next in the bustling cattle markets.
