
A homemaker sustained bullet wounds when unidentified perpetrators discharged firearms through the window of her residence while she was viewing television within the capital's Darus Salam neighborhood on Saturday night.
The victim was recognized as Jesmin Begum, aged 38, being the spouse of Abdul Mannan residing in the area's Matbor Bari Masjid Goli.
Jesmin’s son, Yasin, recounted that his mother was watching television with their home window unlatched when unknown attackers shot through it at approximately 8:30 pm prior to escaping from the scene.
The projectile struck her right arm, inflicting severe trauma, whereupon she collapsed onto the floor, he stated.
Upon being alerted to the event, Yasin rescued his mother and initially transported her to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. Subsequent to receiving primary medical attention there, she was transferred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10:50 pm for advanced clinical care.
Originally hailing from Uttar Dalla village situated under Nabinagar upazila within the Brahmanbaria district, Jesmin has been residing alongside her spouse in a rented dwelling located in Masjid Goli.
The in-charge of the DMCH police camp, Inspector Md Habibur Rahman, confirmed that the woman incurred firearm injuries on her right hand.
