
The price of gold in the domestic market has seen a sharp decline of BDT 4,432 per bhori, just 24 hours after a record hike, as the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) announced a fresh downward adjustment on Thursday.
According to a BAJUS press release, the price of 22-carat gold has been reset at BDT 2,47,977 per bhori, down from Wednesday’s peak of BDT 252,409.
The association stated that the decision follows a decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market and takes effect immediately.
Revised Gold and Silver Rates
Under the new pricing structure, the rates for various categories of gold are as follows:
The market has witnessed significant volatility this year; so far in 2026, gold prices have been adjusted 54 times, consisting of 31 hikes and 23 reductions.
Slashing of Silver Prices
Simultaneously, BAJUS has reduced silver prices across all categories. The price of 22-carat silver has been cut by BDT 175, bringing it to BDT 5,715 per bhori. Other revised silver rates include:
