Marking the second anniversary of the July mass uprising, two major open-air concerts are being held in the capital city of Dhaka today (August 5).

These events have been organized to spread the messages of the memories of the July movement, democracy, unity, and protest. Both concerts are open to all.

"Borsha Biplober Gaan" (Songs of the Monsoon Revolution) will take place at Manik Mia Avenue, adjacent to the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (National Parliament). This event is organized by the Monsoon Cultural Alliance.

Bands including Artcell, Shironamhin, Ark, Avoid Rafa, Kureghor, and Nahid & Musicians will perform at this venue. Solo artists Asif Akbar, Sezan, Parsa Mahjabin, and Kazi Ahnaf Tahmid will also take the stage.

Meanwhile, an event titled "Gonotontrer Jonyo Gaan" (Songs for Democracy) will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

It has been organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, supervised by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, and supported by the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association.

Bands such as Miles, Warfaze, Different Touch, Lalon, Highway, Ace's, and Re-Re will perform at this venue. The program will run from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with gates opening for spectators at 1:00 PM.

According to the organizers, these two events have been arranged to convey the spirit, supreme sacrifice, and message of unity of the July movement to the new generation, and to spread the spirit of democracy and freedom through music.

The relevant authorities have also reported that adequate security measures and necessary preparations have been put in place surrounding both events.
