Three additional children succumbed to measles-like symptoms across the country over the past 24 hours, pushing the cumulative fatalities from confirmed and suspected measles to 1,099 between March 15 and September 28, according to an official press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Monday.

A total of 1,214 suspected measles infections were recorded during the last 24-hour cycle, driving the overall count of suspected cases to 189,255 since March 15.

Concurrently, 96 newly confirmed cases were documented in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases to 21,308 over the same observation period.

Health department data revealed that between March 15 and September 28, a total of 167,469 patients presenting suspected measles symptoms were admitted to medical facilities nationwide.

Of these, 160,705 individuals recovered and were subsequently discharged from hospitals.

Regarding casualties, all three deaths recorded in the past 24 hours involved children exhibiting suspected symptoms, raising the cumulative death toll from unconfirmed cases to 998 since March 15.

No fatalities were attributed to confirmed measles over the past day, leaving the total number of confirmed measles deaths at 101 since the onset of the tracking period.
