On Saturday (March 7), the U.S. State Department announced the potential approval of an emergency weapons package valued at approximately $151.8 million. The sale includes various munitions and essential defense support services.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that an expedited process has been invoked to ensure the immediate delivery of these weapons to the Israeli government.

The approved package notably includes BLU-110A/B bombs, alongside comprehensive logistical and technical support. In a statement, the State Department emphasized that the sale aligns with U.S. foreign policy objectives and aims to bolster the security of a key regional ally.

This arms approval coincides with a chilling warning from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who stated that the "largest bombardment in history" against Iran is scheduled to take place tonight.

Speaking to Fox News, Bessent detailed the strategic objectives of the planned American strikes:

Targeting Infrastructure: The strikes aim to inflict "maximum damage" on Iranian missile launch sites and production facilities.

Neutralizing Threats: "We are significantly neutralizing these capabilities," Bessent noted.
