U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the suspension of "Project Freedom," a military operation in the Strait of Hormuz, citing significant progress in ongoing negotiations with Iran.

The announcement was made via Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, on Tuesday local time.

President Trump indicated that the decision followed requests from several nations, including Pakistan, and a growing confidence that a final agreement with Tehran is within reach.

However, he emphasized that the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports remains fully in effect.

According to the President, the suspension of Project Freedom is intended to provide a window of opportunity to determine whether a formal deal can be finalized and signed.

Escalating Tensions in the Strait
Project Freedom was launched by the U.S. military early Monday morning with the stated goal of assisting international vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz.

The move was met with immediate hostility from Iran, which labeled the operation a violation of existing ceasefire agreements and vowed to resist the intervention.

While the active military maneuver has been paused, the U.S. administration maintains that its economic and naval pressure on Iran will continue until a comprehensive treaty is secured.
