Amidst escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning, threatening to destroy "Peak-Axe Mountain," a highly fortified underground military installation located in southern Iran.

President Trump indicated that the U.S. military could launch an operation against the sensitive, deep-underground complex in the near future.

This development was highlighted in a report by the Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera on Tuesday, July 14.

A Strategic Fortress
The facility, constructed deep beneath the base of a mountain, is considered one of Iran's most critical and secure military-nuclear complexes.

According to U.S. intelligence assessments, the site consists of two massive tunnel complexes buried hundreds of meters deep beneath solid granite, designed to withstand even powerful bunker-buster munitions.

Sources, including the international outlet Al-Monitor, report that Washington suspects Iran is using the facility to secretly conduct advanced uranium enrichment.

The site is viewed as a "strategic backup" for Tehran's nuclear program.

Conversely, since construction began in 2020, the Iranian government has consistently maintained that the facility is used solely for the assembly of advanced centrifuges and the production of general components, denying any covert nuclear weapons agenda.

"Tell Them to Be Prepared"
In a recent interview on The Hugh Hewitt Show, President Trump issued a direct warning regarding the site. "We will blow up Peak-Axe Mountain," Trump stated, adding, "Tell the Iranians to be prepared."

During the interview, the President noted that the U.S. is closely monitoring the area. "We are watching that area very closely. We don’t see much major activity there right now," Trump said. "Their nuclear position is not in a very advantageous place. Whenever we receive information about suspicious activities, we destroy them. They don't want to talk about it much, but we could launch a direct attack on Peak-Axe Mountain very soon."

This threat marks a significant escalation in the rhetoric surrounding U.S.-Iran relations, as global observers remain focused on the potential for direct military confrontation over Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
