The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has issued a reminder outlining specific activities prohibited for individuals traveling to the United States on B1/B2 visitor visas, which include giving birth and engaging in unauthorized employment.

The warning was shared on Saturday from the U.S. Embassy's verified Facebook page.

According to the embassy's advisory, "birth tourism"—traveling to the United States primarily to give birth so that the child acquires U.S. citizenship—is strictly prohibited under this visa category.

Additionally, visa holders are barred from taking jobs that yield remuneration from U.S. employers or business entities.

The embassy also clarified that studying for academic credit toward a degree and performing for paid compensation are banned on a tourist visa.

U.S. B1/B2 visitor visas are exclusively intended for temporary travel activities, typically covering short-term business engagements, tourism, vacations, and medical treatments.
