A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of 327 houses and apartments owned by Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, the former Land Minister of the ousted Awami League government, located across several countries.
The court also ordered the freezing of $10 million he invested in the United States.
On Tuesday (January 13), Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Shabbir Fayez passed the order following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
On the same day, acting on a separate plea from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the court also froze over 46.46 million shares held under the names of Javed and five others.
ACC Public Relations Officer Tangir Ahmed confirmed the court's decision, noting that Deputy Director Mashiur Rahman filed the application on behalf of the commission.

Background of Allegations
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed served as the State Minister for Land from 2014 to 2018 and as the Cabinet Minister for the same ministry from 2019 to 2023.
While allegations of his massive overseas wealth surfaced before the 2024 general election, he was excluded from the subsequent cabinet.
Following the student-led mass uprising that toppled the Awami League government on August 5, Javed reportedly fled to London with his wife and family.
He currently faces multiple cases filed by the ACC and CID related to money laundering and corruption.
