Court Grants Bail to Actress Tanjin Tisha in Fraud and Breach of Trust Case

Actress Tanjin Tisha was granted bail by a Dhaka court on Thursday in connection with a lawsuit accusing her of fraud and breach of trust.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana issued the order after the actress voluntarily surrendered before the bench and formally submitted a bail plea.

The legal proceedings stem from a complaint lodged on November 5, 2025, by Aminul Islam, an executive at Aponia Fashion.

In the case statement, the plaintiff alleged that the actress failed to settle the payment for a saree she received and reneged on a contractual agreement to promote the fashion house through advertisements.

Law Commission Proposals to Follow July Charter Framework: Law Minister

The case moved forward following a recent investigation by the Detective Branch (DB) of the police, which filed a report against the actress.

Acting on those findings, the court issued a summons for her appearance on August 12.

In accordance with that judicial directive, Tisha appeared in court today to surrender and request relief from custody.

Following the incident, Mariam's father, SM Masum Billah, lodged a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on the morning of September 21, naming Gazi Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Maksuda Islam, and Mariam's maternal uncle Obaidur Rahman as accused parties for allegedly abetting the suicide.
