Former cricketer Tamim Iqbal, newly appointed as the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ad-hoc committee, has declared that restoring the honor of the country's cricket is his primary mission.

He made the remarks during a press conference following a board meeting on Tuesday (April 7).

"Usually, when someone takes charge, they talk about development and various other projects. However, my team and I personally feel that our first task is to fix the reputation of Bangladesh cricket," Tamim stated.

He further outlined the committee's mandate: "We have been brought in with the responsibility to organize a fair and neutral election within three months. We will execute the task given to us with as much honesty and speed as possible."

Tamim emphasized that repairing the "reputational damage" suffered by Bangladesh cricket over the last year and a half is the most critical objective for the committee.

For the past several months, Tamim Iqbal had been raising allegations regarding the BCB elections. Following the verification of these allegations, the National Sports Council (NSC) recently dissolved the BCB Board of Directors and appointed Tamim to lead the ad-hoc committee.

The other members of the ad-hoc committee include Rashna Imam, Mirza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khosru, Minhajul Abedin, Athar Ali Khan, Tanjil Chowdhury, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Islam, and Fahim Sinha.
