Argentina's World Cup-winning coach Lionel Scaloni has announced a 55-man preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup.

The list was submitted to FIFA on Tuesday (May 12), the final deadline for provisional squads, from which the final 26-player roster will be selected.

Scaloni included several surprises in the preliminary lineup. The most discussed inclusion is young goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán. The rising River Plate star earned a spot among the six goalkeepers listed.

Additionally, Boca Juniors defender Lautaro Di Lollo and Zaid Romero have also received call-ups.

The squad sees the return of young talents like Alejandro Garnacho, Matías Soulé, and Claudio Echeverri. However, notable star Paulo Dybala has been omitted from the list.

Scaloni's preliminary selection, a mix of seasoned veterans and fresh prospects, has already sparked intense discussion among football fans as they wait to see who will make the final cut.
