The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued an alert advising the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
The warning comes in response to a steep pressure gradient persisting over the North Bay and its adjoining areas, which may lead to turbulent sea conditions.
In its official bulletin, the BMD has instructed all fishing boats and trawlers currently operating in the North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with extreme caution.
The cautionary measures will remain in effect until further notice to ensure the safety of maritime activities and coastal communities.
