The four maritime ports of Bangladesh—Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra—have been instructed to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3 following the development of a low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent Gangetic West Bengal-North Odisha coastal regions.

According to a special bulletin released by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), the low-pressure system is expected to generate squally weather conditions that could impact the country's maritime ports, the North Bay and nearby coastal zones.

In light of the deteriorating weather conditions, the Met Office has directed all fishing boats and trawlers operating across the North Bay to navigate close to the shoreline and exercise heightened caution until further notice.
