Maritime harbors located in Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to hoist local cautionary signal number three as a low-pressure system has materialized above the northwestern sector of the Bay of Bengal alongside adjacent coastal belts of West Bengal and northern Odisha.

The disturbance is anticipated to drift in a west-northwestward direction.

Driven by this system, turbulent meteorological conditions could impact the maritime ports, the northern expanse of the Bay of Bengal, and neighboring coastal zones of Bangladesh, according to an advisory released by the meteorological department.

All commercial fishing vessels and motorized trawlers operating across the North Bay have been directed to navigate close to the shoreline and proceed with due caution until further directives are issued.
