PM in Patuakhali to visit Remal affected areas

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Patuakhali around 12:15 pm to visit the area affected by Cyclone Remal. She left Dhaka for Patuakhali by helicopter on Thursday (May 30) at 11 o'clock. She went there and distributed relief to the cyclone victims.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Prime Minister's arrival, the entire city of Kalapara covered with security. Several levels of security have been created in the city, including the installation of CCTV cameras. A stage has been set up at the government Mojahar Uddin Biswas College ground, where the Prime Minister distributing the relief.

Incidentally, from the last night of May 26 to the last night of May 27, Cyclone Remal swept over various districts of the country. As a result of this, the coastal district of Patuakhali also suffered huge damage due to storm, rain and high tide. 3 lakh 27 thousand people were affected in Patuakhali district and about 235 houses were completely destroyed and 1 thousand 865 were partially destroyed. In this natural calamity, more than 26 crore Tk. have been lost in the agricultural sector and 28 crore rupees in the fisheries sector.
